Scheduling is done on a first-come, first-served basis. Please request classes at least a week in advance to allow librarians adequate preparation time.
Instruction classes are normally held in Library Classroom 101, located on the first floor of Alkek Library. Room 101 has 18 workstations and can accomodate up to 40 students. Room 101 is also equipped with a SMARTBoard. Larger classes of up to 99 people are usually held in Library room 105-106. Librarians can also travel to your classroom.
The Instruction librarian will customize each session according to your specifications. Most classes run 30-40 minutes of active class time, followed by a short time period for students to search for materials on their own with a librarian nearby for assistance. Instruction librarians incorporate active learning techniques to address your students' diverse learning styles.
