Borrowing Books

Most books and videos can be checked-out of the Library. Bring the items you want to check out to the main floor Circulation Desk (512.245.3681). Consult Lending Policies for more specific information.

Generally, in a fall or spring semester:

• Undergraduate students may check out books for 2 weeks. 
• Graduate students may check out books for 4 weeks.  
• Faculty may check out books for an entire semester.  
• Staff may check out books for 2 weeks.  
• Videos and A/V items check out for 7 days -- for all students & employees.
• Please note that some resources must be used in the Library, or have reduced check-out periods.

Renewing Books

After 3 renewals the items must be returned to the library. If there are still no outstanding requests, the items may be checked out again.

• Books and a/v items may be renewed up to 3 times as long as another patron has not placed a hold on these items. 
• Renewal periods are the same as the original checkout period.
• Renew items online using My Account (requires Texas State NetID and password, must be no more than 3 days before due date), in person at the Circulation Desk, or by calling Circulation (512.245.3681).
