The Start Your Research tab is a new tool that enables you to use one search box to find or discover information within many different databases at once. We hope that this will help people more easily begin finding information needed for their research.
A integrated or discovery tool enables you to search for all types of content - articles, books/ebooks, streaming media, dissertations, and more, from many different vendors and publishers – all in one database, no matter what your topic. It is like a search engine for research without the need to search each database individually.
You are searching hundreds of resources including EBSCO, JSTOR, H.W. Wilson, and Thomson databases, thousands of publishers’ journals, and the library’s catalog and institutional repository.
Articles: Searches the same integrated database, but limits the search to articles only. To only retrieve results with the full article online, check the "full-text" box. To limit to scholarly journals, rather than popular magazines, check the "scholarly" box.
Books & More: searches the library's online catalog of books, government information, dvds, maps, kits, eBooks and more available at the library.
Journals: The online search for periodical subscriptions with links available to the online versions. It is the same as the Periodical List Search.
Reserve: Search either the print or electronic reserves.
Video/Music: Search the online catalog for videos or music.
