Alkek Library has study areas located on each floor of the library. We offer a variety of different study environments to accomodate student needs.
Lockers and Reserved Rooms

The 5th and 6th floors of Alkek library are the designated quiet floors. Quiet is enforced on these floors.
Group Study rooms
Group study rooms are located on floors 5 and 6, on each side of the floor. Group study rooms come equipped with a chair, tables, and a chalkboard, and are enclosed in a separate room for privacy. They are available on a first come, first served basis. Special reservations are not required. These rooms are ideal for study sessions or group work situations that involve discussion.
Individual study roomsLocated on floors 5, 6, and 7, located around the perimeter of the floor. Each have a desk, chair, and locker. A limited number of these carrels are lockable and can be assigned for up to 2 semesters to graduate or Honors undergraduate students. Ask at the Circulation desk for more information.
These are located along the wall and free standing throughout the floor; they are open but have dividers for privacy. These types of carrels are also found on floors 5, 6, and 7.
Study tables are located throughout the library, on floors 2-7. These are the most basic type of study accomodation. For an atmosphere of enforced silence, please go to the Quiet floor located on the 6th floor.
