The individual study rooms on floors 5 through 7 contain locking cabinets that may be reserved for semester periods by faculty, graduate students, or upper level undergraduates. Security of items left in the cabinets cannot be assured, and the Library is not responsible for anything stolen from the cabinets or rooms. For graduate and Honors undergraduate students, Alkek Library offers a limited number of lockable individual study rooms. Assignment of these reserved rooms is on a first-come first-served basis, for a maximum of 2 full semesters. Ask for a study room application at the Circulation Desk on the 2nd floor.
Requests by faculty to reserve a group study room for class instruction in use of library materials may be granted for a limited number of times per semester, generally no more than three occasions. Rooms will not be reserved after 6 pm due to demand by student groups during the evening hours. Contact the Circulation Department, (512) 245-3681 for reservations.
