Honors Thesis Submission Instructions

1. Honors Thesis Approval

After the Honors College dean reviews your thesis and signs the approval page, you will take the signed thesis copies to the Circulation Desk in Alkek Library.

 

2. Collation & Formatting Responsibility

It is your responsibility to ensure that copies are collated properly before submitting them to the Library. Bindery does not alter the arrangement, direction, or order of pages.

 

3. Paper Quality

The entire thesis must be printed on white, 8 1/2 by 11 inch, 20/24 pound bond, archival quality (acid-free), flat-finish paper.  Print on one side only with 1 1/2 inch left margin and 1 inch margin for all others.  The copies must be clean, no inked corrections.

 

4. Drop off Manuscript copies at the Circulation Desk

Two signed copies of honors theses must be presented to the Circulation Desk between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday - Friday. One copy of your thesis will be filed in the Honors College and one copy will remain in the University Archives at the Alkek Library.   You may also bring personal copies for binding.

 

5.Pay Binding Fees

Honors College will pay for the binding of the two copies required by the program. You are responsible for the costs of binding any extra copies. You are also responsible for the costs of the paper for all copies and the cost of the printing of all copies.

Extra bound copies may be purchased through the library for approximately $9 each.  There is also a $15 processing fee per order which will cover the the cost of mailing your personal copies.

 

6.Mailing of theses

Only Honors College copies will be held at the Circulation Desk for pick up.  Personal copies will be mailed to the address you provide. Copies will be mailed in 6-8 weeks.

Theses will be bound in dark green binding with gold lettering.
