Associate Vice President and University Librarian: Joan Heath is responsible for the administration of University Libraries which includes the Albert B. Alkek Library, the Round Rock Campus Library, the Archives and Research Center, The Wittliff Collections and University Archives. University Libraries' mission is to advance the teaching and research mission of the University and to supports students, faculty, and other researchers by providing user-centered services, comprehensive and diverse collections, individual and collaborative learning environments, and opportunities to learn, create, and discover. Joan Heath has been with Texas State's Library system serving in various capacities since 1981. In FY18 the library was managed by a staff of 131 full-time staff with library expenditures exceeding $20 million.  

Marketing and Communications: The Library Administration functions include marketing and communication for library events, resources, services and spaces. Debbie Pitts is the Marketing and Communications Strategist for University Libraries and oversees these functions.
