About RIO
The Research, Instruction and Outreach Department aligns to the mission and vision of the University Libraries and supports the Research and Learning Services (RLS) Division Mission with emphasis on providing research and instructional services and facilitating the use of library materials to meet 21st century library needs.
To fulfill the mission of RLS, the Research, Instruction and Outreach Department’s Charge is to provide intensive outreach to the Texas State campus community, with a desired outcome of rich engagement with subject disciplines including research and instructional support.
Key services provided by the RIO department include research support through via Ask a Librarian; Library Research Instruction, in addition to support for publishing and research. More information can be found on our services pages.
