Government Information

This library is a congressionally designated depository for U.S. Government documents. The documents collection is available to Texas State University researchers, as well as the local community, as guaranteed by public law (Title 44 United States Code).

The Alkek Library is a selective depository with a variety of federal and state documents. Alkek's Government Information collection possesses approximately 1.4 million Federal and Texas documents, including a large collection of topographic maps. Government Documents are excellent primary resources for researchers.

Government documents from the federal government are located in compact shelving in the southwest corner of the 4th floor and at the Archives and Research Center.

Government Information staff are located in the northwest corner of the 5th floor. For assistance, please visit us on the 5th floor, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm or contact us via chat, email (govdocs@txstate.edu), or by telephone (512-245-3686).
