A Family's Journey is an Art Form's Journey:
'Compañía Villalongín
The Mexican Revolution (1910-1920) led several hundred thousand Mexicans to journey north to the United States, land that had been part of Mexico only three generations before. Many of Mexico's greatest artists and theatrical companies came to America to tour and/or take up residence — many never returned. One theater troupe that stayed was Compañía Villalongín.
An early show in the Villalongín's San Antonio tenure.Benson Latin American Collection, The University of Texas at Austin.
