Calendar & Hours
The Albert B. Alkek Library is open extensive hours during the academic year to meet the needs of faculty and students.
Exceptions
During intersessions and on holidays, the Alkek Library may be closed or may observe shorter hours.
During interim periods between semesters and summer sessions, for Spring Break, and for University-designated Energy Conservation Days, the Alkek Library is generally open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and closed weekends.
The Library is closed some holidays including Thanksgiving and the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, and Memorial Day. The University and Library are generally closed between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Hours vary on holidays that fall during the academic year when school is in session.

Other Administrative Offices & Departments
Administrative and staff offices within the Alkek Library including the Office of the Associate Vice President and University Librarian, Administrative Services, Research & Learning Services, Cataloging & Metadata Services, Acquisitions, and Collection Development are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Two other campus departments are housed in the Alkek Library.
Student Learning Assistance Center (SLAC)
The Student Learning Assistance Center is located in the Alkek Library on the 4th Floor. For more information on their services and hours of operations, visit their website.
IT Assistance Center
The ITAC Service Desk will be located on the remodeled first floor once construction is complete.
